From what I can figure out, they are now applying for a permit to shore up the adjacent building. There had been a complaint mid february that the walls there had cracked due to the construction next to it.<BR/>But the fact that the site had filled with water that they were constantly pumping out (they are digging on the site of the "canal") does not seem to have been addressed. There was a violation, but it seems to have been resolved by saying they were "properly" dumping the pumped water into the sewers. Meanwhile we know that this particular low point fills in with water and the sewers overflow on the corner of Grand and West Broadway during big storms.<BR/>Besides being one more major encroachment into Soho's architectural integrity, this is an environmental disaster in the making.<BR/>Does anyone have more information on this?TOON Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14761616424361154373noreply@blogger.com
